The Axis Panel

Every axis and coordinate system panel can be collapsed or expanded. The panel header is always visible and shows:

• Axis/coordinate system name
• Duplicate icon — copies the axis or coordinate system with all its settings
• Trash icon — deletes the axis or coordinate system
• Chevron — expand or collapse the panel

Unlike pictas, axes and coordinate systems are not layered, so there are no reorder arrows.

When expanded, the panel also shows settings organized as:

1. Direct settings — text fields, number fields, dropdowns, and toggles shown immediately at the top
2. Sections — expandable sub-panels with additional controls
3. Shared settings — sections within sections, shared settings are used repeatedly across axis panels, for instance the font settings are used for axis labels and for axis ticks, so the font section is a shared setting.

Not every setting or section applies to every axis type or coordinate system. DataPicta shows only the relevant options for the axis or coordinate system you're editing. For instance, a horizontal axis has min and max settings, while a radius axis has start and end angle settings.
